Clifford Douglas (CD) Oliver age 72, born Saturday, August 28, 1943 went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at his home with his loving family at his side. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pennington Gap, VA. He loved the Lord who held his hand through his battle with leukemia. CD was a gregarious individual who never met a stranger, he was an avid country music and NASCAR fan who will always be remembered for his "rolling billboard truck" that created a great deal of excitement of Food City Race Day. He had been a Veteran of the U.S. Army and was an entrepreneur of the first degree always seeking to fill a void for an unrealized service. CD was extremely active in community service volunteering countless hours for the Town of Pennington. He was recognized for this sacrifice by being chosen Volunteer of the Year for his many contributions to the Town but specifically for his devotions to Lee Theatre projects. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife Juanita of 47 years, his two sons Doug Oliver and wife, Kristina of Knoxville, TN and William (Pejib) Oliver of Pennington Gap, VA. Two very special grandchildren Hunter Clay Oliver of Johnson City, TN and Jaden McKenzie Oliver of Knoxville, TN. His mother-in-law Vitis Marcum, three sisters-in-law, a special cat Gray and many, many friends and brothers and sisters in Christ. Preceded in death by parents Clifford and Ellen Oliver, sister Dona Williams and father-in-law Willie Marcum.
