Obituary Christopher Allen Smith age 40 of Pennington Gap, VA was born Saturday, October 28, 1978 in Big Stone Gap, VA and passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at his home. He was preceded in death by his brother David Anthony Smith, grandfather Walter Buck Moore and several aunts and uncles. Chris is survived by his daughter Savannah Dawn Smith, mother Cindy Moore, father James David Smith, sister Jessica Smith, grandmother Ruby Lee Moore, nieces Hope, Kate and nephew Nathan and several extended family and many friends. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA with Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until the time of the service on Thursday. A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Cooper Cemetery on Pucketts Creek. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 AM to go to the cemetery.
