Obituary

Christiana Young, affectionately known as Baby to her friends and family, passed away on July 18, 2024 at 6:53 PM in Pennington Gap, VA at Lee Heath and Rehab Ctr. She passed quietly and without pain; leaving behind a legacy of love, and kindness of spirit. Born on May 23, 1963, in East St Louis, Illinois, to Edward Trout, and Lieselotte Trout, Christiana was a true blessing to the world. She is survived by her husband Rickie G. Young; Brother and wife Robert Duane Trout, Elsie (Beth) Wilkins Trout; Tyler Trout, nephew, and his wife Gabrielle Rivera Trout, Lauren Trout Michi, niece, and her husband Nicholas Michi and their two children, Alfred and Else Meyer, uncle and aunt in Hamburg, Germany. Christiana was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Lieselotte (Schneider) Trout, and Herta Ruschke, Grandmother.

Growing up, Chrissi was a shy and happy girl and was very close to her brother Robbie. People always wanted her to play basketball because of her height but she had no interest in sports.

Christiana's life was one of love and affection. She loved animals, especially puppies and was kindhearted. After graduating from Fayetteville High School, she embarked on a career working for Sears.

‍In January 28, 2003, Christiana married the love of her life and soulmate, Rickie G. Young, in a beautiful ceremony in Cadiz, Kentucky and they reaffirmed their vows in front of the family in the rose garden in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Christiana and Rick had many adventures together including cruises to the Bahamas, trips to Myrtle Beach, long motorcycle rides touring the country, and even traveling together on Rick's government assignments.

Christiana had many passions. She loved Dean Koontz novels and really enjoyed miniature golf and action movies. She especially loved the motorcycle rides with Rickie. A most special place was kept in her heart for her "doggies" and she truly loved any movies with dogs in them. She also loved to make wreaths and decorate them for all different occasions. She loved her garden and taking care of her chickens and picking blueberries and blackberries.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Neff officiating.

Christiana Young's legacy is one of unwavering love and commitment to kindness and family. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her, and her memory will be a blessing to her family and the many lives she touched.

We will miss her until we see her again in Gods Kingdom.
