Obituary

Charley Cecil Moore, 84, went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2026 at Lee Health and Rehabilitation.

Charley was born on June 6, 1941, to the late James and Laural Moore in Rose Hill, Virginia. He was a proud member of Air Force. Charley worked in the coal mines as an electrician for over 38 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 188 in Rose Hill, Virginia. He also loved to fish.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Moore; two brothers, Danny Moore and Wade Moore.

Those left to cherish his memory is his sons, Chuck Moore (Michelle), Jim Moore, and step son, Darrell Williams; daughters, Vickie Brown (Terry), Wendy Moore, and Judy Blanton (Phil); brother, Wiley Moore; grand children, Justin, Matthew, Ashley, Hunter, Corey, Ryan, Julia, Whitney, Cheyne, Alicia, Aaron, and Austin; as well as a host of great grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Powell Valley Funeral Home in Jonesville, Virginia. Masonic rites will be conducted by Lodge 188, Rose Hill, at 6:45 pm preceding the service. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Paul Davis Jr., officiating the service.

A committal service will be held the following day, Friday, January 30, 2026, at 11:00 am at Hamblen Cemetery in Rose Hill, Virginia. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 am. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
