Charles Harvey Sturdivant, age 85, passed away July 9, 2026 Northwest Hospital, Tucson, AZ.

Survived by his Wife Eileen Hamlin Sturdivant of 65 years, Brother Ralph (Helen) Sturdivant of Florence, KY, Seven Nephews, Eight Nieces and numerous Great Nephews and Nieces, Cousins and Friends.

He was born October 18, 1940, in the Gulston community of Harlan County, KY a son of the late Steve and Nellie Sturdivant, Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his Brothers Jerry, John and Clifford; Sisters Nancy Hileman and Edna Sturdivant.

He gave his heart to the Lord in a Salvation Army tent at the age of 11 in Harlan County, KY. He began his devout Christian walk with the Lord by spending hours of praying knelt down at an old log in the mountains, or in an old tin garage, and reading his Bible faithfully. He taught young people in Sunday school during his teens.
In 1961 he moved to Northern Kentucky and went to work in Cincinnati, Ohio. However, he continued his faithful study in the Bible, working in different churches and assisting in whatever way was needed. He always had a helping hand for the elderly especially.

He had his Minister’s License in KY. He was affiliated with the Baptist and Church of God faiths. He had been a Pastor and Associated Pastor.
He married couples, dedicated babies, conducted funerals and other requirements such as leading singing, preparing for Communion Service. He was diversified in that he had operated a sound system and made radio broadcasts. Along with being faithful in PRAYER, he felt being HUMBLE was important. He was never too busy to volunteer in feeding the hungry, for janitorial services required, and at times he used his expertise in assisting carpentry work needed by the church. Church was always his Life and priority.

He began working at Hughes Aircraft in Tucson, AZ 1978, which became Raytheon. He was a skilled Machinist and before he retired in 2000, Raytheon began to send him on trips to different locations. One of those places was Bristol, TN and he commented what a nice reception he received from the local people.

Charles had a charisma which followed him in his personal life, as well as his Christian walk with the Lord. He will be missed by everyone who loved him.

They family will meet at the Ingle Cemetery in Rose Hill, VA 23310 Wilderness Road on Wednesday, September 12, 2026 at 12 noon to Celebrate his wonderful and meaningful life. Pastor Steve Neff will officiate. Following those services, his cremains will be buried along side other family members. It is requested that those wishing to attend the service assemble at the cemetery by 11:50 am.
