Charles Robbins, age 85 of Keokee, VA was born in Robbins Chapel on Friday, January 8, 1932 and departed this walk of life on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Heritage Hall in Big Stone Gap, VA. He was a retired coal miner and liked to be outdoors and hunting ginseng. He was also a lifelong resident of Lee County and was a member of the Church of God in Keokee. He was preceded in death by his son, Donnie Robbins; a grandson, Gregory Rutherford; his parents, Ezra and Callie Pennington Robbins; five brothers, William, Earl, Ray, Harold and James Robbins and one sister, Zonia Barker. He is survived by his wife, Faye Robbins of the home; one son, Jesse James Robbins of Keokee, VA and one daughter, Deborah Rivers and husband Wayne, also of Keokee, VA; six grandchildren, Jesse James Robbins Jr., Spencer Robbins, Summer Clark, Mickey Rivers and husband David Holmes, Daniel Adams and Christopher West; five great-grandchildren, McKenzie Clark, Peyton Clark, Donnie Holmes, Gregory Holmes and Andrew Holmes. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Funeral services will be at 8:00 P.M. following the visitation in the the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap with Rev. Billy McDonald officiating. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Maggard Cemetery in Keokee, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:45 A.M.
