Obituary Charles L. Leedy Sr., age 72, of Dryden, VA passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 at his son John Leedy's home. He was a loving husband and father, a proud veteran, retired coal miner and farmer who loved his family more than life. He was preceded in death by his parents Ruben and Ruby (Clark) Leedy and wife Alma K. (Benfield) Leedy and his sister Leda Jane Stewart. Charles is survived by his sons Charles "Chuck" Leedy, Jr. and wife Lisa of Dryden, VA and John Michael Leedy and wife Shannon of Dryden, VA; his grandchildren Ashley Mountcastle of Chatsworth, GA, Elaina and Kaylee Leedy of Dryden, VA; two great-grandchildren Waylon and Paisley Bush. The family will have a private burial with close family/friends. He will be laid to rest at the Clark family cemetery near Lovelady Gap. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering for other friends, family and neighbors at the Powell Valley SDA Church, 187 Stairway Dr. Dryden, VA between Dryden and Big Stone Gap in the Seminary area of Lee Co. on Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 2-5 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, donations to be made in his honor to the Powell Valley Christian School, 187 Stairway Dr., Dryden, VA 24243.
