Charles Scott Helbert age 55 of Pennington Gap, VA was born Monday, January 9, 1961 in Lynchburg, VA and passed away at his home February 5, 2016. He was a Veteran of the US Army, had worked in construction and was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his mother Francis Lorraine McKnight and father William Scott Helbert. He is survived by wife Sandra Helbert, step-father David E. Mcknight, his children Crystal McCumber, Kari Stanley and husband Cnaz, Scottie Helbert and wife Tabitha, Clora Napier and husband Jacob, Angela Gilmore and husband, Caleb, Sr., Shane Helbert, Lisa Helbert, CJ Helbert, step daughter Shannon Fleenor, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Rick McCarty and wife, Vickey, David "Budgie" McKnight and wife, Lisa, sisters Angie Hutchins and husband, David, Regina Helbert and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 11, 2016 with Bob Grider officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon Thursday until the time of the service.
