Carolyn J Pennington, 73, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.

Carolyn was born on April 24, 1952 in Virginia. She is preceded in death by her mother, Clona Dollar.

Those left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Curtis Pennington; a brother, Ronald Dollar; a sister, Teresa Sanders (Gary); four children, Kim Rowe (Roger), Tracy Gaulker (Robert), Frankie Rogers, and Ledawn Pennington; grand children, Travis Rowe, Keith Rowe, Brianna Baker, Chase Rowe, Dustin Rowe, Donovan Meade, Christopher Meade, Alicia Meade, James Brummette, Shiena Well, Myah Wells, and Addyson Pennington; special nephew, Wesley Dollar; special friends, Nancy Koerner and Mikayla Agee; as well as a host of great grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow with Pastors Jason Robinette and Oscar Niece officiating.

A committal service will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 11:00 am at Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden. Family and friends are asked to be at the funeral home by 10:15 am.
