Carolyn Jean Cope, age 59, of Jonesville, VA passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026 while at her home.

She was born in Pennington Gap, VA on June 19, 1966 a daughter of the late Albert and Barbara (Russell) Gibson.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Larry Cope and 2 brothers: Bill Gibson and Steve Gibson.

She survived by daughters; Wendy Sturgill, Jessica Lambert and Carolyn Gibson and 1son; Donald Sturgill. Multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.

2 Brothers; Frank Delph and Tommy Delph and 1 sister; Kathy Daniels.

Several nieces, nephews, cousins including a very special niece Gretchen Mills (Not Victoria) and other family members also survive along with several friends,

All services will be private.

Carolyn and her family are in the care of Jones-Pennington Gap Funeral Home.
