Carl Johnson, 84, of Pennington Gap went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Lee Health and Rehab.

Carl was born on June 10, 1939 in Lee County, Virginia to the late Spencer Ray and Dona Clawson Johnson. He worked for several years as a nurse at Lee Hospital and in Ohio until his retirement.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Johnson; and sisters, Minnie Benfield and Margaret Burgan.

Carl is survived by his sisters, Estel Creech and Bertha McDonald; brother, Gene Johnson; along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Steve Neff officiating.

Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to express a thank you to the staff of Lee Health and Rehab for the care given to Carl.
