Burlyn Stewart age 68 of Ewing, VA was born Monday, August 23, 1948 in St. Charles, VA and passed away Monday, September 19, 2016 at his home. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Rose Hill First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Verda Long Stewart and his father Jocephus Stewart. Burlyn is survived by his wife Judy Taylor Stewart of the home, one son Arliss Aaron Stewart of Ewing, VA, three sisters Rita Gail Lee and husband, Robert of Mason, OH, Jewel Stewart of Ewing, VA, Anita Williams and husband, Steve of West Harrison, IN, two brothers Jimmy Stewart and wife, Karen of Sparks, NV and Marvin Stewart and wife, Renee of Springdale, OH, a special uncle Charles Long and wife, Jerleen and many special nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Jonesville, VA with Carlos Wolfe and Jay Harold Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM Thursday until the time of the service. A Military graveside service will be held by the local VFW Post # 5715 and the National Guard Honors Team at 11:00 AM Friday at the Lee Cemetery in Rose Hill, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 AM Friday for the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to help with the funeral cost.
