Obituary Bonnie Lakins age 81 of Rose Hill, Virginia left this earthly life on January 28, 2022 to rejoice in heaven with her lord and savior Jesus Christ. Bonnie was born on February 4, 1940 the daughter of Fred August and Goldie Lorene Moore Tron in Posey County, IN at the age of 17 she met the love of her life Earl C "Big Daddy" Lakins while he was working in her home town upon eloping back to Rose Hill, VA they were married in Sneedville, TN. In 1958 they began building their new home in the Mclin Hollow where they resided the rest of their lives. Once asked of the possibly of leaving Lee County she said bluntly no!! This was her home and she wouldn't live anywhere else. Along with her husband they owned and operated Earls Sports Center and Lakins taxi cab services for many years. While working hard and proving herself to be reliable in transporting friends and neighbor to the Lee County Health Department she often told of applying for an open position there and got the job enjoying what she did and loved all of her co-workers that remained life long friends after retirement. She is preceded in death by her husband Earl C "Big Daddy" Lakin's, two grand children Jeremiah and Anna Lakins her parents Fred August and Goldie Lorene Moore Tron her mother and father in-law Tommie and Maude Lakins her siblings Fredrick Jessee Tron, Violet Emery, Fred August Tron, James Tron, and Karen Tron. Left to cherish her memory is her sister Frieda Wells, sister in-law Margaret Tron Mason all of Mt. Vernon, IN. She also leaves behind her children Thomas Earl and wife Sue, Johnny August and wife Sandy, Billy Charles and wife Melinda. Her grandchildren Samantha Lakins, James Earl and his love Heather, Larissa and love Ryan one speical little great grandson August Gene Earl Lakins all of whom she loved so dearly , sister in-law Barbara Lakins Hensley of Rose Hill, VA and a host of many nieces and newphews and many family and friends.
