Betty Hale, 99, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at her residence.

She was one of seven children born to Andy and Sara Pace living in the Silver Leaf Community of Flatwoods, VA. She married Charlie Hale and moved to the St., Charles Community of Lee County where they had two children, Jerry Hale and Mona Lanningham, which resulted in three grandchildren, Kimberly Disney, Chuck Shackelford, and Scott Hale. There are also 7 great grandchildren. Betty enjoyed being a stay at home mother and later working various jobs. She was an avid collector, crocheted afgans, quilt maker, and gardening.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Lee Memorial Gardens with pastor Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 PM.
