Bobby Wayne Stapleton, 66, of Pennington Gap, Virginia passed away on March 24, 2025.

Bobby was born on December 9, 1958 in Lee County, Virginia to the late Kyle Sluss and Anna Mae Stapleton Sluss. He was a welder and fabricator by trade until his retirement.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Scott Smith; and brother, Earl David Newman, Jr.

Bobby is survived by his grandsons, Jared Smith and Austin Calvert; brothers, Roger Sluss of Michigan, Carl Sluss of Michigan, and Jimmy Newman of Georgia; sisters, Debbie Newman of Pennington Gap and Sherri Birkenbach of Tennessee; along with several special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, Virginia with Bro. Aaron Stapleton officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 AM.
