Bobby Joe Lawson, 71, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.

Bobby was born on December 19, 1953 in Maryland. Bobby was a coal miner for Westmoreland Coal Company for 20 years. He was of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Lawson; mother, Maxine Mellons; father, Delza Lawson; sister Freda Salyer; brother, Glenn Lawson; a son, Walter Lawson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jennifer Lawson and Heather (Tony) Biggs; sisters, Yvonne Morris & Teresa Williams; brothers, Gary Lawson and Ricky Carter; grand children, Tony Biggs, Patience Biggs, Austin Biggs, Kaydence Biggs, Josie Biggs, and Eli Lawson.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Lee Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 pm.
