Bob Parsons age 71 of Stickleyville, VA was born in Stickleyville on Friday, March 10, 1944 and went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, February 15, 2016 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. He was of the Baptist Faith and had worked for Bills Auto Sales and Salvage as a loader operator. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, mud bogging, gardening and just being outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents Coy and Bonnie Parsons, a brother Dub Parsons, two sisters Juanita Miles, infant sister Betty Lou Parsons and a nephew Greg Parsons. Bob is survived by his wife of 37 years Sandra Ward Parsons of the home, two brothers Gene Parsons (Rosalee) of Stickleyville, VA and Walker Parsons (Alma) of Surgoinsville, TN, four sisters Judy Burke (Tyler), Lou Bledsoe (Jim) and Doris Fee all of Stickleyville, VA and Kate Doub (Sam) of Kingsport, TN. He is also survived by his father-in-law Bill Ward, sister-in-law Sue Young (Robert), brother-in-law Skeeter Ward (Paige) all of Stickleyville, VA, Marty Ward and wife, Kara of Charlottesville, VA, special friend Archie Fee of Stickleyville, VA, eighteen nieces and nephews and many friends. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Otto Gibson, Bob Grider and Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm Friday until the time of the service. A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Ward Cemetery in Stickleyville, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 am Saturday to go to the cemetery.
