Billy Earl Hounshell, affectionately known as "Chili" age 61 of Rose Hill, VA passed Wednesday afternoon at his residence with his family by his side.

He was a truck driver and farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Geneva Cupp Hounshell, one brother David Hounshell, one sister Carolyn Hounshell and a brother in law Jack Beck.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years Dorothy Gail (Ramsey) Hounshell, one son Billy J. Hounshell (Sarah); one daughter Becky Hounshell (Rodney Lee), one brother Robert Hounshell, three sisters Alice Beck, Patsy Mosley (Roger), Patricia Hylemon (Joey). Grandchildren Brice Necessary, Charleigh Lee, Elijah Lee, Emily and Eli Hounshell. Nephews: Logan Westberry, Joshua Mosley, Ethan Hounshell and Bobby Hounshell and wife, Lashae. 1 Niece: Haleigh Hounshell. Several cousins and other family members along with many friends also survive.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 1pm until 3pm at the Powell Valley Funeral Home, Jonesville, VA The funeral will follow in the chapel at 3pm Preacher Bobby Hounshell and Pastor Steve Neff officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery, Frog Level Road, Ewing, VA. Pallbearers will be: Jeff Williams, Rocky Catron, Allen McMurray, Hank Cupp, Ricky Cupp and Joey Hylemon. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roger Mosley, Teddy Ramsey, Jimmy Cupp, Jay Osborne, Mike Gibson, Vernon Gibson and Chris Black.

In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to the family for his cemetery marker.
