Betty Jean Young, 87, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Kentucky.

Betty was born on July 27, 1938, to the late Rutherford and Frankie Gilbert (Huff) in Lee County, Virginia.

Along with her parents, she is preceded by her husband, Essie Young; a daughter, Tammy Day; a brother, Glen Gilbert; two sisters, Shirley Morefield and Peggy Ewing.

Those left to cherish her memory is her son, Jason Young (Heather); daughter, Kathy Standifer (John); sister, Wilma Daniels; granddaughters, Betty Jo Carter (Shannon) and Alena Satterfield (Jason); best friend, Becky Holloway.

Betty will be buried at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, Virginia.
