Betty Jean Lanningham, 89, of Jonesville went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Lee Health and Rehab.

Betty was born on August 30, 1934 to the late Denver Golden Williams and Georgia Victoria Rose Williams. She married her husband, W.L. Lanningham on October 24, 1953. Betty was a graduate of St. Charles High School and she worked for Lee Bank for over 32 years.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Lee Lanningham (better known as Wint or W.L.); her infant son, David Lee Lanningham; brother, Bobby Earl Williams; and sister, Margaret Louise Lacy.

Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Dianne Collins and husband, Jim of Jonesville, Phyllis Province and husband, Jim of Jonesville, and Janet Neal and husband, Frank of Rose Hill; her grandchildren, Shannon Saylor, Danny Crabtree, Lindsey McCurry, Morgan Province, and Ivy Barber; great grandchildren, Riley McCurry, Dylan McCurry, Leah Crabtree, and Clancy Crabtree; along with a host of extended family.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Paul Davis, Jr. officiating.

A committal service will follow the funeral service at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway with Josh McCurry, Riley McCurry, Dylan McCurry, David Shepard, Danny Crabtree, and Randy Newsome serving as pallbearers.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of the Cumberland Unit at Lee Health and Rehab for their exceptional care of Betty.
