Betty McGinnis Hopkins age 75 was born in Lee County, VA on Friday, May 23, 1941 and is now walking with Jesus on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. She is preceded in death by her husbands Sam McGinnis and Ralph Hopkins, her parents Silas and Laura Jarnagin, sisters Viola Jarnagin, Charlscie (Tommy) Snodgrass, Ruby Neal Snodgrass and Mary Jarnagin, her brothers Paul, Robert and Woody Jarnagin and Pat Moore. Betty is survived by one son Michael McGinnis and wife Debra, Step-daughter Beverly Olsen and husband, Wayne of Mesa, AZ, step-son Gary Hopkins and wife, Cathy of Knoxville, TN, one granddaughter Samantha McGinnis, one sister Martha Newman and husband, Richard, one brother Ronald (Buster) Jarnagin and wife, Imogene, special friends Linda Ingle, April, Mark and Ethan Brock, also many nieces, nephews, family and friends whom she loved dearly. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Jonesville, VA with Rev. George Flanary officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM Wednesday until the time of the service. A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday at the Beech Grove Cemetery in Jonesville, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 AM Thursday to go to the cemetery.
