Barbara Sue "Bobbie" Wright, age 84, of Keokee, VA passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13th, 2024 at Lee Health and Rehab.

She was born on Thursday, September 7th, 1939. Barbara was a beloved member of the Keokee community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Bobbie was a proud member of Eastern Sunrise Baptist Church, president of the Ladies Auxiliary, secretary of the Locust Grove Optimist Club in Georgia, and secretary of the local Pocahontas Club in Lee County, Virginia. She worked for several years as an administrator for the Baptist Church Children's Association, later as a Security guard for Caterpillar, and as a caretaker for MEOC after her retirement.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd C. Smith Sr. and Rachel Mae Healen; brother, Lloyd C. Smith Jr.; sister, Julia Smith Parsons; and Bobbies first husband, Manuel Niday.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Jerome Wright; daughter, Jenny Shaw; grandchildren, Samuel, Daniel, and Nathan Shaw; three great grandchildren; brothers, William Smith and Allan Smith and wife, Shirley; special friends, Alicia and Robert Hyde; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Eastern Sunrise Baptist Church (3545 State Rte 606, Keokee, Virginia 24265) with Pastor Paul Davis Jr. and Pastor Leonard Lane officiating. A committal service will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, Virginia. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Irene Thomas, Shirley Smith, Rhonda Disney, and Tina Webb for their special care of Bobbie.
