She was a member of Colliers Chapel Pentecostal Church of God in Jonesville, VA where she served as a pianist, secretary, treasurer and Sunday school teacher. She evangelized and sung with her family, 'The Carson Family', they traveled many states and miles for the Lord. She was a retired Registered Nurse working at Lonesome Pine Hospital in the Pediatric Department and the Obstetrics Department. She was then the Administrator for House call Home health and Hospice and then worked at Lee Regional Hospital where she wore many hats. She worked in the Intensive Critical Care Unit, Assistant Nurse Manager of the surgical department, Nurse Manager of the Chemotherapy Department, Nurse manager of the Medical Surgical Department and House Supervisor. She worked 27 years in the nursing field. She loved helping people and never met a stranger. If she told you she loved you, you can bet she meant it. She showed no respecter of persons, it didn't matter about the color of skin, if you were rich or poor, she treated you the same. She never forgot where God brought her from. And she shared her story every time she had the chance, trying to encourage others along the way, letting them know that there was nothing impossible with God and if he could do it for her then he could do it for them. She believed every word from the King James Version Bible. Did she make mistakes, yes she did, but she knew the remedy, 'Repent and sin no more'. Men and women may never forgive us for things, but thank God He Does. Our heavenly Father is faithful to forgive. Her words to you right now would be to ask Jesus into your hearts. Hes the best friend and comforter you will ever find.
