Arthur Lane Livesay age 89 was born Friday, December 31, 1926 and died Monday, May 9, 2016. He was married 70 years to Betty Rhea Stout. Arthur was a Veteran of the Army Air Corp. He received his BA from LMU and MA from ETSU where he was a professor. He was a teacher at Pennington High School where he was responsible for several state and national DECA wins. Arthur was known by many as an herbalist. He was supervisor for Wise County Schools. Arthur Lane was Scout Leader for Boy Scout Troop 82 and was awarded the Silver Beaver medal. He was choir director for Thomas Village Baptist Church for several years. Arthur was a real estate broker and a lifelong resident of Pennington Gap, VA where he was always a community leader. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents W.B. and Mattie Livesay, brother Wayne Livesay and son-in-law Billy Arwood. He is survived by son Dr. Jerry Livesay of San Diego, CA. Daughter Yvonne Arwood of Pennington Gap, VA. A sister Joyce Rutledge of Troutville, VA. Grandchildren Dr. Chris Livesay, Dr. Elizabeth Arwood and Savannah Arwood. Brother-in-law Ed Stout and wife, Linda of Bristol, VA. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, a host of friends and special caregiver Michelle Mitchell. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA. Burial will follow at the Cecil-Fry Cemetery in Pennington Gap, VA.
