Obituary April Sabrina Pursell Poteet, age 49, was born in Leesburg, Florida on September 2, 1970. She was the daughter of David M. Pursell and Brenda Pursell Lamb. She grew up in Mount Dora (Lake County), Florida and attended grade schools there. She worked in retail merchandising in Cleveland, Ohio, auto-customizing in Ocala, Florida and as a server at Sagebrush Restaurant in Kingsport, Tennessee. April was gifted in art and loved decorating for holidays and special events. She loved her plants and was able to take little ones and make them flourish. She was diagnosed as a child with a hereditary kidney disease and like her dad, ended up on hemo-dialysis in October 2018. Tragically, she lost her battle with end stage renal disease. April is preceded in death by her father, David M. Pursell; her paternal grandparents, Robert (Bob) Pursell and Margaret B. Pursell; 2 uncles, Bob and Roger Pursell, all of Lake County, Florida; her maternal grandmother, Hattie Haynes Treadway (her Gigi); her step-father, Willie Wayne Lamb; and her childhood best friend, Gwen Iannone. She is survived by her mother, Brenda Pursell Lamb of the Hickory Flats community in Pennington Gap, Virginia; her brother, Matthew Lamb and wife Keri of Abingdon, Virginia; 2 daughters, Jordan Alexis Lamb of Bluffton, South Carolina and Sara Elizabeth Pursell Lamb of Wise, Virginia; 2 nephews, Ethan and Gavin Lamb; 1 niece, Raena Eloa Cinder Lamb; her very special friends at the Towers in Appalachia, Virginia, Tim (Tex) Parsons, Carl, and others; and the very special members of the fire and rescue squad of Appalachia whom she had grown to love and depend on. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Davis, Jr officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of services.
