Alvin Elishia Rutherford, age 92, of Pennington Gap, VA, passed away on Friday, March 1st, 2024 at Heritage Hall in Big Stone Gap. He was born on Tuesday, June 23rd, 1931 in Lee County, Virginia to the late Worth Rutherford and Helen Redwine Rutherford.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Fred, Harvey, Benny, Olin, and twin brother Calvin Rutherford; sisters, Treva York and Tina King

Alvin is survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Paul Davis Jr. officiating.

A committal service will follow at Pennington Memorial with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
