Obituary Alonzo Skidmore age 68 of Rose Hill, VA was born July 26, 1952 in Harlan, KY and passed away peacefully at his home on November 25, 2020. He was a dedicated coal miner and farmer all of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilder and Verda Skidmore, infant brother Michael Skidmore and brother Harold Skidmore. Alonzo is survived by his wife of 50 years Frankie Skidmore of the home, two sons Aaron Skidmore and wife, Mercedes of Tazewell, TN, Franklin Skidmore of Harrogate TN, two daughters Kari Skidmore of the home, Christy Skidmore and husband, James of Duffield, VA,his grandchildren Amara, Melody, Jalyn, Cody, Anyssa, and his furry companion Babe. He is also survived by his five brothers Mark Skidmore and wife, Kathy of Cranks, KY, Bill Skidmore and wife, Bonnie of Jonesville, VA, Danny Skidmore and wife, Leslie of Wise, VA, Melvin Skidmore and wife, Annette of Cranks, KY, Glenn Skidmore and wife, Marlisa of Thomasville, NC, five sisters Teresa Bray and husband, Jerry of Pennington Gap, VA, Lisa Smith and husband, Terry of Harlan, KY, Gail Skidmore of Harlan, KY, Sue Moore and husband, Bill of Jonesville, VA and Ruth Moore and husband, Charles of Dryden, VA. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 PM Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday with Pastor David Jones officiating. A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday at the Skidmore Family Cemetery in Rose Hill, VA.
