Alma Kay Benfield-Leedy age 66 of Dryden, VA was born Friday, August 31, 1951 and passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at her home. She had worked for the United States Post Office as a clerk and was of the Christian Faith. Alma loved her grandchildren and spending time with them, she was also an artist and enjoyed painting and drawing. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Thelma Benfield, brothers Arville, Junior and Kenneth Benfield and a sister Shirley Pearson. Alma is survived by her husband Charles Leedy, Sr. of the home, two sons Charles Leedy, Jr. and wife, Lisa, John Michael Leedy and wife, Shannon all of Woodway, VA, three grandchildren Ashlee Mountcastle, Elaina Leedy and Kaylee Leedy, three sisters Sue Gouge of Bakersville, NC, Shannon Ellis of Johnson City, TN, Emma Snowden of St. Charles, VA and many nieces, nephews, and other family members. A funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Pastor Don Elswick officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM Monday until the time of the service. The family request a private burial.
