Ada Hatfield, 85, of Rose Hill went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Ada was born on June 4, 1938 to the late Herman and Ethel Seabolt Hall. She married the love of her life on July 28, 1959. She worked as a cook for IGA for 19 years until her retirement. Her greatest joys in life were her family.

Ada is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Verlie L. Hatfield; three sons, Verlie Hatfield Jr., Rick Hatfield, and Ronnie Hatfield; parents, brothers, David Hall, Glenn Hall, and James Hall; sister Carolyn Fee.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Tammie Isley of the home, Jessica Eldridge and husband Todd of Ewing, VA; granddaughter, Shawna Carico and husband James of Rose Hill, VA; grandsons, Joshua Hatfield of Ft. Campbell KY and Hunter Vee Isley of Knoxville, TN; great grand-children, Maddy & Lauren, Elliot, Robert & Clara; brother, Lawrence Hall; sisters, Emma Fee and Sue Moore; special friend, Cathy Crouse; along with several niece and nephews.

Their family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Powell Valley Funeral Home, 29521 Wilderness Rd, Jonesville, Virginia 24263. A funeral service will follow with pastor Richard Long officiating.

A committal service will be held at 11:00 AM in Fee Cemetery. Charles Isley, Todd Eldridge, Ted Garrett, and James Carico will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:00 AM to go in procession.
