Ada Cook, 69, of Jonesville, passed away at her home on August 29, 2024 after a period of illness with her loved ones by her side.

Ada was born to Adrian and Grace Belcher on August 24, 1955 in St. Charles, Virginia. She grew up in Lee County, moving as a young adult to Indiana and then Oregon before returning to Jonesville where she spent the remainder of her life. Ada spent many years as a dietician for Lee Nursing and Rehab where she made many friends and touched countless residents and their families.

Ada was preceded in death by her parents, Adrian and Grace Belcher; brothers, Donnie Cloud and Shaun Belcher; and sister, Joyce Lawlis who died the same day.

Ada is survived by her son, Matt Poor (Elizabeth); daughters, Megan Small (JR), Katie Woodard (Woody), and Kacie Shuler (Allen); a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Tim Belcher(Stacy); a special sister who took care of her, Carla Crowder; and her two dogs and two cats of many years.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow with Pastor Paul Davis Jr. officiating.
